The StoryWings Story
StoryWings was born when the idea of recording individual stories, messages, poems and even jokes for a new baby in our family turned out to be a huge success. Everyone loved contributing to the final gift. It brought the mother-to-be and her guests to joyful tears as we listened to the recordings at the baby shower.
Those contributing included young children, uncles, friends and six great grandparents! Knowing that those loving voices are captured forever, and that we can continue to add to this precious audio library at any time and for any occasion, turned out to be more valuable than we anticipated. Yes, most anyone can record people talking and save those recordings, but what we found to be challenging was communicating instructions, coordinating the contributions, helping people who are technically challenged, and then saving the files in a way that anyone could access them. We decided that creating an inexpensive, cloud-based application that makes it is easy to record, name, save and organize audio stories of all kinds is something that should be explored. As a entrepreneur and business development consultant, it was a natural next step to do research to explore whether there is a wider appeal for the idea. The results were overwhelmingly positive and our StoryWings adventure began. While we provide ideas about how to use your StoryWings subscription, it is limited only by your imagination... oh, and the copyright law...but that is covered in the Terms of Use. StoryWings is a treasure that grows in value with every new contribution. We are honored to provide the vehicle for families, friends, colleagues and organizations to capture and curate their vocal history and to share it at any time...and from anywhere. Please share your unique use of StoryWings on our comment page. We'd love to hear from you! |
